Here I Go!

You asked for it, you got it!  Or at least I'd like to think that in some small way this will be a source of enjoyment or benefit for someone other than myself.  I do not consider myself to be a writer...actually I've always lacked the confidence and creative energy that would allow me to put my thoughts, however random or even sometimes cathartic they might be, on "paper" in a way that others would consider to be good writing or enjoyable reading ;)

But I at least know that after all of these years, of me thinking I need to do SOMETHING, anything, to A)  Organize my almost-hoarding quantity of recipes collected over the years, and B) Cave in to that little whisper saying "you can do this, you got this!  Believe in yourself and do something just for you that's something you can be proud of with your unique talents and energy"......

For the past several years, people have been trying to encourage me to do something with or capitalize on my love of food, cooking and baking.  A fear of failure and of letting people and myself down still has me frozen in place, unable to completely wrap my head around actually following in the path and accidental but truly awesome successes of two of my idols - The Pioneer Woman and of course, Paula Deen.
I guess most days I feel like I'm not quite good enough or creative enough to come up with my own recipes - most of the recipes you'll find on here are from other sources, but I'll try to start being brave and disciplined finally and create, measure and capture some original recipe creations on here too!  I hope I don't get in trouble by the copyright police either, so I'll give credit where credit is due on the rest.

So what we're left with is this: my humble little attempt at compiling, testing, and sharing all of my favorite and never-attempted-before recipes...A place where I can finally have everything in one place, taking up far less space, and hopefully some of my friends and family can come visit when they're in a "what's for dinner" rut.

If I can inspire even a few people out there to get in the kitchen and see how yummy and frankly, easy it can be to make delicious, mostly non-processed, made-from-scratch meals that are almost always just as good as or better than anything you can get at your local drive-thru, that comes in a box, or that costs several hours' pay at a nice restaurant, then it'll be reward and success enough.  Cooking and sharing scrumptious, soul-satisfying food with loved ones can be the best feeling and a beautiful, memorable legacy left behind long after the last crumbs have been cleaned off the plate!

Eat, Enjoy & Love!!
